LML Design Ltd (LML) was established in the summer of 2025 by Laura Mackie, founder and principal of the practice. Laura brings extensive international and UK experience across high end garden design, resorts and commercial projects, as well as public realm.

 

Beginning her career in Sydney, she developed a strong interest in sustainable design, with a particular focus on water management and construction detailing. Returning to the UK, she worked with leading landscape architecture practices (Gillespies & LDA), gaining in-depth knowledge of UK planning systems and refining her expertise in large scale, multi-disciplinary residential and commercial developments.

 

Laura was Director at Marcus Barnett Studios, where she helped elevate the design standards and run the studio, leading on high-profile private and hospitality projects worldwide.

LML Design aims to work with clients across the UK and internationally, delivering projects ranging from intimate townhouse gardens and roof terraces to expansive country estates and holiday villas. Our work also encompasses public realm projects, including hotel landscapes, urban squares, and plazas.
